While we are still closed to in-person worship, our plans for both outdoor and indoor worship have been approved and we are in the process of meeting the requirements of the indoor worship plan as soon as possible.
You can learn more by watching the September 27 “From the Pastor’s Heart: Special Announcements” message. In the meanwhile, please join us here or on Facebook for worship online while we Shelter in Faith.
The best way to stay up to date on this and other activities at Union Grove is through our newsletter subscription. You’ll receive a monthly newsletter, weekly worship service information, and occasional special announcements direct to your inbox. Your information is secured and we do not share your information. Shelter in Faith
Regardless of our goal of returning to in-person worship, we will continue to provide worship services online and through Worship-by-Phone for those who prefer to continue worshipping at home. Each week’s worship video will be posted here on our website, on our Facebook page, and added to our channel at Vimeo at our regular worship time (11:00 a.m.). We’ve also added a Worship-by-Phone option for those who don’t have Internet. They can call 865-995-0044 and hear an audio recording of each week’s service any time between 11:00 a.m. on Sunday and 9:00 a.m. the following Sunday.
At Union Grove you don’t have to let sheltering in place keep you from sheltering in faith! Worship where and when you can, and don’t forget to invite your family to join you and share the Good News with your friends!
He makes all things new, and that’s especially true at Union Grove. We’ve wiped the slate clean and are in the process of rebuilding our beloved community and refocusing our mission.
A Place for All
Maybe you doubt. Maybe you’ve been hurt. Maybe you feel like you won’t fit in. Maybe you feel like you won’t be accepted. Maybe we should talk.

Our Mission & Vision
Our mission is to serve God by sharing love and faith through the word of God.
With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, our purpose is to be living examples of God’s redeeming and transforming love for all creation as we carry the Good News Jesus brought and taught us out into our community and the world, and to do good, do no harm, and love God always.
“For God so loved the world, He gave his only begotten son that whosoever should believe in him would have eternal life.”
Break Bread with Us!
LAST SUNDAY EACH MONTH
Temporarily suspended – Our monthly fellowship meals take place on the last Sunday of each month after worship service. The meals are potluck with everyone bringing their favorite dishes to share. When it’s once again safe to gather together, we hope you’ll come and break bread with us! In the meanwhile, we have a private group on Facebook specifically for virtual fellowship. Visit our Facebook page for details!
1ST SUNDAYS & HOLY DAYS
At Union Grove and all United Methodist Churches, the Lord’s Table is open to all who wish to receive communion. Currently, communion is offered as part of our regular Sunday worship on the first Sunday of each month and appropriate holy days. Communion is also a part of our first Sunday online worship. Please have juice and bread available as you watch those worship videos.
1ST SUNDAYS & Online
Let us pray! On the first Sunday of each month after we re-open, the Sanctuary will be open from 6:00-7:00 p.m. for those who wish to spend time in personal prayer and meditation. There will also be opportunities to join in live online prayer services through our Facebook page each Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Click on the arrow next to Contact Us (above) to access our prayer request form.
