The Church In the Grove ... A House of God With a Place For All
You're InvitedConnection Card

Union Grove UMC will re-open for in-person worship on Sunday, May 2, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. For those who are unable to attend on Sunday mornings, we will be going forward as a “hybrid” church, continuing to provide online worship videos and worship by phone (865-995-0044) for those without Internet access. Videos will continue to be posted here, on Facebook, and on our channel at Vimeo.com. To make sure everyone hears the same message, posting of online worship videos and the worship by phone audio will take place on Sunday evenings following the in-person service.

Masks and social-distancing will be required for all in-person activities at the church until further notice and with no exceptions. If you are unable or unwilling to wear a mask, please continue to worship online or by phone.

11:00 a.m.

Worship will be limited to online only until Sunday, May 2, 2021

If you have family, friends, or neighbors that don’t have Internet access, they can call 865-995-0044 to hear a recording of our complete worship service. The recordings are available from 11:00 a.m. each Sunday until 9:00 a.m. the following Sunday. Long-distance charges may apply.

We are located at 1151 Lane Dr., Friendsville TN 37737. Take US 321. Turn at the sign for Allison’s Farm & Catfish Restaurant.

Although Union Grove Methodist Church has been a part of the Friendsville community since 1885, its future is now uncertain. Two or more decades of transitions, the most recent occuring in June 2020, have caused a decline in both attendance and in the offerings and tithes that helped to sustain her. One year, one month and four days of being limited to online only by a global pandemic didn’t help. We’re asking for your help to ensure she is able to continue past June 27th of this year.

The UGUMC Manna Campaign asks for your pledge to participate in in-person worship and your pledge to contribute whatever amount you can commit to financially, with a goal of $15,000.00 in total pledges. Watch this space for links to more information and pledge cards.

Looking Foward

He makes all things new, and that’s especially true at Union Grove. We’ve wiped the slate clean and are in the process of rebuilding our beloved community and refocusing our mission.

A Place for All

Maybe you doubt. Maybe you’ve been hurt. Maybe you feel like you won’t fit in. Maybe you feel like you won’t be accepted.  Maybe we should talk.

Church Your Way

Whatever you need – small groups, bible studies, in-person or online access – we want to be there for you. Use the button below to contact our pastor and start a conversation.

Our Mission & Vision

Our mission is to serve God by sharing love and faith through the word of God.

With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, our purpose is to be living examples of God’s redeeming and transforming love for all creation as we carry the Good News Jesus brought and taught us out into our community and the world, and to do good, do no harm, and love God always.

John 3:16

“For God so loved the world, He gave his only begotten son that whosoever should believe in him would have eternal life.”

Pray. Act. Give.

Break Bread with Us!

Temporarily suspended – Our monthly fellowship meals take place on the last Sunday of each month after worship service. The meals are potluck with everyone bringing their favorite dishes to share.  When it’s once again safe to gather together, we hope you’ll come and break bread with us! In the meanwhile, we have a private group on Facebook specifically for virtual fellowship. Visit our Facebook page for details!

At Union Grove and all United Methodist Churches, the Lord’s Table is open to all who wish to receive communion. Currently, communion is offered as part of our regular Sunday worship on the first Sunday of each month and appropriate holy days. Communion is also a part of our first Sunday online worship. Please have juice and bread available as you watch those worship videos.

Prayer Nights

Wednesday Worship: Pray & Study

Our current Bible study is on Season 1 of The Chosen. Learn more about the Bible study at uniongroveumc-friendsville.org/wednesday-worship-pray-and-study/. Meeting link: tinyurl.com/prayandstudy.
