 IN-PERSON WORSHIP

Union Grove UMC re-opened for in-person worship on Sunday, May 2, 2021. Joining us for in-person worship, you’ll find a welcoming, Jesus-believing and following group waiting with open arms to greet you and make you feel at home. The worship service is fairly traditional in format, following the Basic Pattern of Worship. We strive for messages that present the Gospel of Christ and other scriptures as they relate to life today and that keep you thinking about and focusing on the Way, the Truth, and the Life throughout the coming week.

We mean it when we say “y’all means all at Union Grove.” Everyone is welcome and equal at Union Grove regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, gender-identity, life-style, level or lack of belief, even regardless of politics. You don’t have to be a member to join or participate in our worship and activities. Come as you are. There is no “dress code.”

Our congregation is currently 100% vaccinated. If you have not been vaccinated for COVID-19, please wear a mask when attending service or other activities at the church. We also have masks and other supplies available in our Narthex.

 Sundays

11:00 a.m.

In-person worship has resumed, however we also offer livestream on our Facebook page for those who need to worship from home, and on-demand videos are made available here and on our channel at Vimeo.com as soon as possible after each service for those who are unable to attend during our regular worship time.

Directions

We are located at 1151 Lane Dr., Friendsville TN 37737. Take US 321. Turn at the sign for Allison’s Farm & Catfish Restaurant.

VIRTUAL WORSHIP

For those who are unable to attend on Sunday mornings due to conflicting work schedules, physically difficulties, or health risks, we are a “hybrid” church, continuing to provide online worship videos. Sunday morning services are currently live-streamed in real time through our Facebook page.  The Facebook recordings are eventually embedded here on our website along with a transcript of the scriptures and message, and are also uploaded to our channel at Vimeo.com.

We realize that some of our online worshippers are located in other parts of the country. We do our best to make those visitors feel included, too. We offer an electronic bulletin via email that includes congregational responses, prayers, text of creeds, psalms, and scriptures, the Service of Holy Communion (virtual worshippers are encouraged to have juice and bread available during the Communion service so they can participate at home whether viewing live or on-demand), and lyrics for congregational hymns, It also includes the announcements made at the beginning of our worship as well as links to relevant pages, other online services we provide, and more.

Looking Foward

He makes all things new, and that’s especially true at Union Grove. We’ve wiped the slate clean and are in the process of rebuilding our beloved community and refocusing our mission.

A Place for All

Maybe you doubt. Maybe you’ve been hurt. Maybe you feel like you won’t fit in. Maybe you feel like you won’t be accepted.  Maybe we should talk.

Our Mission, Vision, & Statement of Faith

Our mission is to serve God by sharing love and faith through word and deed.

With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, our purpose is to be living examples of God’s redeeming and transforming love for all creation as we carry the Good News Jesus brought and taught us out into our community and the world, and to do good, do no harm, and love God always.

John 3:16

“For God so loved the world, He gave his only begotten son that whosoever should believe in him would have eternal life.”
