About Pray. Act. Give
Metanoia – (n.) the act of changing one’s mind, heart, self, or way of life.
What does God ask of us? To act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with God. — Micah 6:8
“Let my heart be broken by the things that break God’s heart.” – Bob Pierce
Let’s be honest. Except for that hour each Sunday morning, life is pretty good at distracting us away from God and doing God’s will for the rest of the week. We have a solution, though.
Each year, our pastor suggests a theme on which we can focus our personal prayers and look for local opportunities to live our faith in the “every day” through local action and local giving relevant to the theme.
You don’t have to be a member of Union Grove or even attend church to join us as we pray, act, and give. Just stay tuned to this page. Each quarter’s theme will be posted here in addition to appearing on the back of our Sunday bulletins when we return to in-person worship. Past themes will remain available as well for those of you who find a mission that you want to continue.
If you’d like to suggest a theme, please use the contact link to drop a note to the pastor.
“Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.” – Romans 12:9-13
